Topic: Erro Timeout

I installed iRedMail and tested it well on DigitalOcean (Send/Receive/HTTPS) but suddenly server stops rendering and starts giving timeout messages and none url nginx respond. I cannot connect to IMAP, SMTP, POP or even RoundCube Website.

Check log files under /var/log/. Especially, mail.log, syslog.

I've checked these files, there is no error message.

I reboot the system, and it responds while machine is getting up, but when everything is ready it stops works.

Yesterday I created swapfile and it started normal, but after a while stopped again. I commented the swap entry in fstab and reboot the machine it's up and running again. Do you know what could came wrong with swapfile?

I created swapfile like this

dd if=/dev/zero of=/swapfile bs=2M count=2000
sudo mkswap /swapfile
sudo swapon /swapfile
sudo nano /etc/fstab
added following line
/swapfile       none    swap    sw      0       0

echo 10 | sudo tee /proc/sys/vm/swappiness
echo vm.swappiness = 10 | sudo tee -a /etc/sysctl.conf

sudo chown root:root /swapfile
sudo chmod 0600 /swapfile

Even with swapfile disabled it off again.

Fail2ban blocked my ip the defaultime bantime was 86400.

Try to restart Dovecot service, any error message in /var/log/dovecot.log?

I found the problem, iRedMail was working fine, my ip was blocked by Fail2ban and bantime was 24 hours. Because of that i though it was down, but it was running fine.
