Topic: Server Hardware Requirements

For a server wich 10 user with 1 GB di mail quota, what are server requiements?

In generale, wich is the hypotetic requirements based on number of users/quota?

My goal is found a general rule about configuration basing by: users, quota, messages for days, or other variables you can indicate me.

Re: Server Hardware Requirements

Your server specs mostly depend on how many emails you get per minute.

Re: Server Hardware Requirements

It depends. Is not a simply answer. Can you give me some examples?

Is the only variable to quote the hardware requirement for the server?  Not the number of the users, the disk quota, else?
So best practice to quote the server? In my mind I want to make a virtualmachine inner a virtualbox host, where I can expand more variables, but not ever is possible.

Re: Server Hardware Requirements

*) It depends on how many emails your server will receive and process, because processing emails costs system resources (CPU, RAM, disk I/O).
*) It slightly depends on how many mail accounts you serve (SQL query performance), and it doesn't depend on how many mail messages you store.
