Topic: SMTP through 587 not working.

I'm trying to enable smtp through 587. I have read that it is enabled by default, but I cant send through it. Where do I enable it, or where do I check to see why it isn't enabled?

Port 587 is enabled by default. If it doesn't work for you, what's the error message in your mail client application?

Send test e-mail message: Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).

However, when I switch to port 25 it works fine, but only through certain ISP's.

I see its listening, but its not accepting on that port...

Have you tried restarting Dovecot?
Could you show the output of iptables -L

I just restarted dovecot, still no love.

As you can see, port 587 is enabled.
Does your ISP block this port?

No, as I'm able to send mail through my Gmail account on port 587

*) Can you reach port 587 from external network? for example, command 'telnet [your_server] 587'.
*) Any related log in Postfix log file?
*) Does your client connect to server with an IPv6 address or IPv4? According to the output of 'netstat' command, Postfix listens on IPv4 address, not IPv6.
