Topic: Stuck>Dovecot not creating Maildir under /var/vmail/vmail01

Using 0.5.1 version of iredmail, I really appreciate your work.

Everything seemes to work fine, I can connect to my new mailboxes over thunderbird, but I didn't manage yer to login with roundcube.
The thing is that the Maildir structure is not being created under /var/vmail/vmail01. It remains blank...
I suppose that's a dovecot.conf issue, but I didn't manage to figure out the problem yet...

Any help very appreciated.

Set 'mail_debug = yes' in dovecot.conf and try to debug it yourself first.
I think you can find something in /var/log/dovecot.log and /var/log/sieve.log while it deivering emails.

dovecot.log says> User example@example.com is missing UID (see mail_uid setting)

In dovecot .conf the parameters mail_uid and mail_gid are blank.


mail_uid =
mail_gid =

Don't know how to fix this. Any ideas?

search 'mail_uid' in this forum first, you will get answer

ok solved putting into dovecot.conf uid an gid found in /etc/passwd for vmail user
