*) Did you enable smtp authentication in your mail client program (Outlook/Thunderbird/etc)?
I am using roundcube. I didn't really installed it separately.. It was installed when i installed when i followed this tutorial

the only other thing i have on my server is LAMP. I believe the smtp gets enabled on it when i create a new user? not sure
*) What's your Postfix version? You can get it with command "postconf mail_version".
