Trying to get webmail to work I am finally able to send and receive emails using the pc that iRedMail is installed on.
it took me a bit to figure out the correct mx dns settings. this is a fresh installation of ubuntu with nothing else installed other than iredmail

Existing problem:

I cant access the roundcube interface from any device "other than the pc it's installed on" and i cant connect to my mail account using either thunderbird or the iphone mail app.

when trying to access mydomain.com from any pc I get:
Index of/

if I try to access
mydomain.com/mail the page tries to load for a few minutes and then I get the error "connection timed out"

I am on ubuntu and mydomain.com obviously points to folder var/www but there are no iredmail or roundcube related files stored there.

I am adding images of all related dns settings i have.

Any help would be great. Thank you

Re: can't connect to roundcube or SMTP/IMAP

Looks like a network related issue. Is there any network gateway/router between your mobile device and iRedMail server? Does it block your access?

Re: can't connect to roundcube or SMTP/IMAP

Thank you,

I have port forwarding set up on my router already.
if you access xxx.com from internal or external network you are directed to my var/www folder but xxx.com/mail times out. Really dont understand why there is no /mail folder under www
it seems that the actual roundcube folder is under usr/share/apache2/

the only way for me to access roundcube from the server pc itself is by

xxx.xxx.com/mail
or
https://127.1.1/mail/
or
https://192.168.1.66/mail/

here is a snapshot of my port settings

Re: can't connect to roundcube or SMTP/IMAP

I'm having the exact same problem. I also happen to be trying to use afraid.org. I note that you haven't used the mx records, and I have, but I have NO IDEA if I'm doing the right thing.

My Afraid info is the following:

        MYSITE.COM (G)     A    XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
    MYSITE.COM (G)    MX    0:mail.MYSITE.COM.info
    MYSITE.COM (G)    MX    10:mail.MYSITE.COM.info
    mail.MYSITE.COM (G)    A    XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX

[Edit] to remove hostname info as PC not to hand

I've reinstalled my debian OS & iRedmail many times now. I can send and receive emails from the PC it's installed on, but can't access it via the web browser from outside the LAN, and can only access it from within the ALN if I use the IP address of the Email PC.

So, I'm posting here in the hope that we both can find a solution.
