Topic: How do you stress test?

Setting up new server latest build on Ubuntu. Using KVM for server, storing maildir on network attached storage (NAS) iscsi or NFS, leaning more toward iscsi at the moement.

How would you go about stress testing? I know I'll have some bottleneck because of the NAS. I would like to know how the system would hold up , how many users my hardware could support, etc.

I'm new to this obviously any input appreciated.. point me in the right direction

Try Postfix built-in tool: smtp-source. http://www.postfix.org/smtp-source.1.html
