==== Hi

I want to delete an forwarding mail address. When I want to save the new settings I get an error message
"Error: {'desc': 'Other (e.g., implementation specific) error'}"

If I want to delete an mail address for an other user, I also get the same error message.

If I want to add an new user, i get an other error message

"Error: {'info': 'index generation failed', 'desc': 'Other (e.g., implementation specific) error'}"

2 weeks ago it was still working, we have not made any changes to the server

iRedAdmin-Pro - v1.6.2 (LDAP)
Linux_Debian 6.0.3 x86

Cheers

I'm afraid there's something wrong with your OpenLDAP data.

1) Is there any related error log while restarting OpenLDAP service with below command in the terminal?

# /etc/init.d/slapd restart

2) Is there any error in OpenLDAP log file (/var/log/openldap.log)?

1.) no nothing
2.) I don't see any error messages in the log

When I start the server, i get the same error

Re: an error occured while saving settings

I got this error - and traced it down to when I restored LDAP on migrating to a new server.  Some of the files in /var/lib/ldap/DOMAIN were root:root owned, not openldap:openldap.  Fixing that took care of the problem.  This was using 0.9.1 on Ubuntu 14.04

Dear bjmoose,

Please always create a new forum topic for your own question/issue, do not hijack other's thread, especially a 3-year old thread.
