Topic: backup and restore on different server (openSuse -> FreeBSD)

hi,
I have to change server for e-mail (biggest storage), now we have on OpenSuse 11.2, and:
iRedAdmin 0.1.5 (MySQL) (iRedMail 0.7.2)
phpmyadmin 3.4.1
roundcubemail 0.5.3

apache 2.2.17
postfix 2.7.2
dovecot 1.2.17
mysql 5.1.57
amawisd 2.6.4
spamassasin 3.3.1
clamav 0.97
avstats 7
fail2ban 0.8
mail stored on the: /mail

New serwer -> FreeBSD 9.

My question is:  what is the best way to move e-mail and configuration (backup) and restore all on the new machine?
First upgrade to 0.7.4 on the old server, install new 0.7.4 on the FBSD and update (restore from old) mysql database, email and configuration?

this is the way - or maybe anyone have any idea?

thanks, kazix

Thank you,
I never see this site before...

I just upgrade iRedAdmin to 0.7.4 version.

When 0.8 will be stable  - should I wait with migration (I see that for FreeBSD will be new version of MySQL and Dovecot).

thanks, kazi

PS instalation on the FreeBSD is more than 1 minute wink

iRedMail-0.8 stable release will be available in 1-2 months. Major change since 0.8.0-beta3 will be PostgreSQL support in iRedAdmin, both iRedAdmin open source edition and iRedAdmin-Pro.

You can use 0.8.0-beta3 now, all changes between 0.7.4 and 0.8.0 will be logged here:
