Re: Wishlist for iRedMail-0.8.0

Sorry, my mistake. It's listed in http://www.iredmail.org/faq.html :
http://www.iredmail.org/forum/topic379- … tocol.html

Please create a new forum topic for further discussion, let's keep this topic as *WISHLIST* for iRedMail-0.8.0. smile

You won't see them.

But there's an integration document for SOGo here:

Re: Wishlist for iRedMail-0.8.0

Hi to all

Maybe these softwares:

mailman : Mail List for MySQL backend (it must be) - http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/index.html
mailgraph : For shiny mail statistics (it's not necessary; optional) - http://www.stat.ee.ethz.ch/mailgraph.cgi
maia-mailguard : is an other useful software (especially for mail users) - http://www.maiamailguard.com/maia/wiki

A good tutorial is here : http://www.purplehat.org/?page_id=4

Best Regards

Will public doc for integration later, but still no plan to integrate it in iRedMail yet.
Keep pushing me.

hainan wrote:

Shipped in early versions. No plan to bring it back.
Also, i just received less than 5 mails from its official mail list in one year, not a good idea to ship a DEAD program for just a little optional features.

hainan wrote:

Which features in maia-mailguard do you like?

Re: Wishlist for iRedMail-0.8.0

Hi

I need a few features for my mail users.

Lets users see a list of their quarantined spam, sorted by score
Users can manage their own content filtering settings
Users can maintain their own whitelists and blacklists

Actually iRedMail default features totally meets all user needs. No need to maia. But sometimes user requests may become annoying. Anyway just a suggestion.

Best Regards.

This one is on my TODO list, to be achieved within iRedAdmin-Pro.

With iRedAdmin-Pro, admin can view, release, delete quarantined mails (Screenshots: First, Second).

hainan wrote:

No plan for these two yet. Sorry.

I thought about per-user whitelist/blacklists before, personally, i think let user manage their own white/blacklists is not a good idea. There must be another way to achieve this purpose.

Users can add contacts in Roundcube WebMail, how about use these contacts as per-user whitelists, and bypass mails from them in iRedAPD policy daemon?
Still no idea about per-user blacklist yet, currently, i don't want to develop a roundcube plugin for this.

Re: Wishlist for iRedMail-0.8.0

it would be nice if mailgraph also integrate in iredmail

Re: Wishlist for iRedMail-0.8.0

how about single domain multiple hosting , like qmail has with the help of QMQP.

iRedMail uses postfix as MTA, so it depends on Postfix.

Login integration with freeradius server with mysql db ( or LDAP) as backend.

Great piece of software! Thank you!

It's better to achieve this integration with addition documentation, not in iRedMail core.

Re: Wishlist for iRedMail-0.8.0

One of very special and useful stuff is a Throttling control and these functions are missed:

* Max message size of incoming email     (if some users must to receive a huge sized emails and this option must help to customize it);
* Max message size of all incoming emails per time unit.

Also, all throttling features are described here:
http://policyd.sf.net/readme.html

42

Re: Wishlist for iRedMail-0.8.0

Not at all...
I need throttling control for incoming, not for outgoing email.

Now I have a basic limit for all Incoming emails in postfix main.cf (message_size_limit = 15728640)
It is not flexible to have a static rule for all domains and especially for users emails.

So persons must have these Incoming email size limits
* strong limit policy - 5Mb
* normal limit policy - 15Mb
* freaks - 25Mb

Re: Wishlist for iRedMail-0.8.0

lockdown "by IP/hostname" of phpmyadmin and phpldapadmin-directories would be nice

some kind of

phpldap_admin_hosts= 192.168.1.0/24, 10.0.0.10, myhost.example.local
phpmysql_admin_hosts=192.168.1.10, 172.2.2.0/24, someothedadminhost.example.local

during install?

and the config could then be put into the apache-config-files in

Allow from ...

Maybe you take a look at backuppc

install it on an own dedicated box and pull the /var/vmail from your mailserver

Re: Wishlist for iRedMail-0.8.0

split dovecot-storage-path into

  • dovecot_mailstore

  • dovecot_index

so we can put the index-files on an own mount-point like

/var/vmail_index

this makes storage-design and backups easier
moreover this can give a performance benefit it you put the index on a fast disk

default is to use the same path

It's hard to know your subnet or networks, so we should leave it to admins.

We leave it to admins too.
We can discuss how to backup mail server data, but we have no plan to install/configure related software yet. Any suggestions about deep backup solution integration?

mike.f wrote:

It does bring better performance if you store INDEXES and messages in separated storage (balance I/O), but stores INDEXES in mailbox directory should be fine.
Also, iRedMail has this setting in dovecot:

mail_location = maildir:/%Lh/Maildir/:INDEX=/%Lh/Maildir/

You can simply change INDEX= to split index files.

maybe implemented in some kind of "advanced-config" for experienced users during installation?

was meant as a hint for bluedog smile
what do you mean with "deep backup solution"???

I prefer to keep installation wizard as simple as possible, then provide additions FAQs to help admins achieve other features.

mike.f wrote:

Sorry for the confusion. I mean, easy to backup/restore/recover.

recursive rsync of

/etc and /var/vmail

to another host gives single item-restore possibility
mysql and openldap can be backed up using your scripts...

maybe we should take it to a different thread smile

Re: Wishlist for iRedMail-0.8.0

maybe for an even later release...
integration of calendarserver and per user/group-sharing?

as there is already an integration of calendarserver with openldap this might be interesting

the needed patches are already included in current debian 6 - stable

apt-cache show calendarserver

see also http://trac.calendarserver.org/ticket/260
