I'm having trouble connecting via SMTP from another server.

I enter email address, password and when I send this error appears:

Could not open socket

I have already reviewed the entire internet, I am days with this problem and I can not solve.

I've released ports, I've already enabled TLS and nothing remains the same problem.

I am trying to send from another server and both have firewal enabled or something similar.

How did you send email?
Where did you get this error message?
Any error in Postfix log file?

Re: ** Resolved ** Could not open socket

How did you send emails?

I am sending via Wordpress, it already sent from another server normally. But when I installed iredmail, it already presented this error.

Where did you get this error message?

When sending it, it generates a connection file with the SMTP server

Any error in Postfix log file?

Neither, neither appears in the log any type of error.

Re: ** Resolved ** Could not open socket

Seems a wordpress related issue. What's your smtp settings in WordPress?

Re: ** Resolved ** Could not open socket

I'm using the Postman plugin

SMTPS for server.com:587

I looked for this error with the plugin developer, and it even falow that the problem is in the email server.

And I've reviewed all the documentation and I have not found what can happen.

Re: ** Resolved ** Could not open socket

I've also tried with TLS and I get this message.

4.7.0 TLS not available due to local problem

Re: ** Resolved ** Could not open socket

Could you help me, I still have the problem and I do not know where to find help.

Re: ** Resolved ** Could not open socket

iRedMail has only one port open for end users to submit/send emails: port 587 with TLS for secure connection.

Yes I know, but I did what documentation said about port 465 for sending with SMTPS, and generated that second error.

I just wanted to know what could be done so that I can send message via SMTP and that this error does not appear.

Could not open socket

Re: ** Resolved ** Could not open socket

Try to use same smtp settings with other MUA, for example, Thunderbird, to make sure the server is working as expected. If server is fine, it must be a client side (Wordpress) issue.

Error upgrading connection with STARTTLS: 454 4.7.0 TLS not available due to local problem

Now I've tried putting it in an email client and this error appears.

Resolved, the certificate was not properly configured in Dovecot.

After Fixed, now works perfectly!

Many thanks ZhangHuangbin for your support!
