Hi. I started receiving much spam, and I noticed spamassasin is disabled.
If I try to start it with: sudo /etc/init.d/spamassasin start
It replies:

SpamAssassin Mail Filter Daemon: disabled, see /etc/default/spamassassin

Somehow that files contains ENABLED=0

Is it possible that a system update overwrote that file?

Should I revert it to 1? Something else this file should contain?

Thank you and happy 2017!

Re: spamassasin got disabled

SpamAssassin is called by Amavisd, so iRedMail doesn't run 'spamassassin' service.

Re: spamassasin got disabled

I see, thank you. Now I see amavis is working. In yesterday's report I see it blocked 33% of the e-mails. From those that passed as ham, about 80% were spam.

The filtering was much better last year. Did the spammers get better? or my server worse? smile

I'll read about amavisd-new...
