I'm hoping someone can help, I'm a little stuck. I've setup my mail server  and everything seems to be working perfectly. I just wanted to jump into mysql to add some aliases, I checked the iredmail tips and config file and tried the password detailed in the file to login to mysql as the root user.

I get the error "access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'

Am I being silly and doing something wrong?

Thanks ever so much

Dave

Re: Generated mysql root user password incorrect

It was me being thick. Hopefully this might help someone else. I'd created and was using non-root user. Looks like I needed elevated user privileges to run mysql. It only clicked when I tried this as root user and everything was great.

Sorry guys. *hangs head in shame*
