The version of dovecot that was installed with the iRedMail package was 2.2.10.  I'm attempting to upgrade it to the most recent version (2.2.25).  However, on el7, the only pre-compiled version I can get through yum is 2.2.10.

# yum install dovecot

 * extras: mirror.es.its.nyu.edu
 * updates: mirror.clarkson.edu
Package 1:dovecot-2.2.10-5.el7.x86_64 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do

An attempt to install the new version manually resulted in a new dovecot installation in /usr/local/etc/dovecot instead of using the current installation's location of /etc/dovecot.

What is the procedure to upgrade dovecot in a specific folder on CentOS 7?

Re: Updating dovecot to most recent version

on CentOS 7, iRedMail uses Dovecot from official CentOS repo. We have no plan to build RPM for new versions yet, but you're free to do it yourself (grab the srpm, replace version number, download new version, run 'rpmbuild -ba xxx.spec', done).
