Hello
i was trying to make a load balancing using ha-proxy between 2 ubuntu servers.
its working just fine with postfix but for dovecot i will need to upgrade the version to 2.2.19 and upper.
i guess that it wont be easy to install it and to make it match to your platform.
any suggestions?

thank you,
Raz

Re: upgrade dovecot

Why you have to use Dovecot 2.2.19 or later release to work with HAProxy? I didn't see such requirement in Dovecot wiki site.

i tried to make it work by adding the ha-proxy option it the dovecot.conf file but it just didnt let me start the service.

by the way, by default in your configuration it mention that:

# Require Dovecot-2.2.19+
    #inet_listener imap_haproxy {
    #    port = 10143
    #    haproxy = yes

Re: upgrade dovecot

The port 10110/10143 requires Dovecot 2.2.19+, but you can use existing port 110/143/993/995.
