Topic: Replaced Apache by Cherokee on my iRedmail!!

I'm testing since a few weeks the Cherokee Web Server.
Yesterday I decided to replace the Apache deployed by iRedmail, by Cherokee 1.014
The installation is an iRedmail 0.6.0rc1 on Ubuntu 9.10 64bits.
It's a VMware machine with 4GB assigned and 4core.
The real server is a DELL 8-core, 12GB RAM, 5xHD in RAID5.

Result:
Roundcube looks like 50% to 70% faster (this is an approximate, I haven't had the time to do proper benchmarking but trust me... it's definetely FASTER!!) and even more important, memory consumption has dropped from 3.8GB to 800-900MB smile

My VMware thanks me... smile smile

The install is trivial (apt-get). There's only a couple of tricks to do in the config, but the GUI of cherokee-admin makes it a snap.

My advice... try it!
