Topic: Roundcubemail rpm and few other things

Hello,

Just wanna say thanks for nice package, what is almost perfect. smile

Only few missing rpm's and it's perfect big_smile

Roundcube you can get from here:
http://centos.karan.org/el5/extras/testing/

Then I would also like to point out that not all use yum as packet manager. I personally use SMART. I feel it much better because of it's very good GUI interface. So yum made quite a mess in my setup when I installed iredmail tongue

Then about LDAP.. Is it possible to use centos-ds, redhat-ds or fedora-ds (all are same directory server) as LDAP backend?

Re: Roundcubemail rpm and few other things

I don't know about RedHat based parts of iredmail but on Debian it's all good

sa@wks:~$ type acsn; acsn roundcube
acsn is aliased to `apt-cache search --names-only'
roundcube - skinnable AJAX based webmail solution for IMAP servers - metapackage
roundcube-core - skinnable AJAX based webmail solution for IMAP servers
roundcube-mysql - metapackage providing MySQL dependencies for RoundCube
roundcube-pgsql - metapackage providing PostgreSQL dependencies for RoundCube
roundcube-sqlite - metapackage providing sqlite dependencies for RoundCube
sa@wks:~$

I never used SMART nor any GUI based package manager frontend ... for good reasons as I figure http://sunoano.name/ws/public_xhtml/cli_vs_gui.html A GUI is just another, basically not necessarry, layer that might be buggy and therefore potentially make things worse. That's my main argument against using GUIs at all in case there is a CLI alternative.

Re: Roundcubemail rpm and few other things

Hope we can install roundcube-0.3 with RPM/DEB in the feature, because it has many buildin plugins, we don't need to patch it any more.

Re: Roundcubemail rpm and few other things

There is nothing wrong using GUI apps. I do mostly use CLI apps but some tasks is just much more easy to see and do with GUI.

But sure there still exists peoples who think that GUI sucks. And mostly they can't even give any valuable feedback, they just troll.

Oh, I know CLI
