I updated to Ubuntu 16.04 and Apache would not start, complaining about MySQL Auth. This document does not mention this issue: http://www.iredmail.org/docs/upgrade.ub … 16.04.html

This closed topic mentions the issue will be fixed in future versions of iRedMail: http://www.iredmail.org/forum/topic7928 … rting.html

What is the current suggested solution to the missing MySQL Auth on Ubuntu 16.04 / Apache 2.4 ?

Thank you smile

Re: When upgrading Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04, MySQL Auth missing

I updated doc: http://www.iredmail.org/docs/upgrade.ub … 16.04.html

Apache

Ubuntu 16.04 ships Apache 2.4, there's no mysql auth module for Apache available, so you must disable all mysql auth related settings in Apache config files. For example:

/etc/apache2/apache2.conf
/etc/apache2/conf-available/awstats.conf
/etc/apache2/conf-available/cluebringer.conf
