Hello

this is a follow up to the thread i made earlier

http://www.iredmail.org/forum/topic1195 … erver.html

i have a new issue now that both my authentications send mail using the same ip

if i connect via server1.mail.com it send email via the second ip (127.0.0.1) and not the first one (127.0.0.0)

any idea how i can solve the issue ?

thanks

Re: adding a second ip - issue

Add '-o smtp_bind_address=xxx' to the default 'smtp' transport in /etc/postfix/master.cf, just like the "sample-smtp" transport.

Re: adding a second ip - issue

Hello

how can i find the default smtp transpot in the master file ?

i'm not sure what you mean so i added

sample-smtp     unix -       -       n       -       -       smtp
    -o smtp_bind_address=127.0.0.0
   -o smtp_helo_name=mail1.example.com
#    -o syslog_name=postfix-example-com

sample-smtp     unix -       -       n       -       -       smtp
    -o smtp_bind_address=127.0.0.1
   -o smtp_helo_name=mail2.example.com
#    -o syslog_name=postfix-example-com

but now both my ips send from the first one 127.0.0.0

Re: adding a second ip - issue

As mentioned in my reply:

Sample setting:

smtp unix ...
    -o smtp_bind_address=

Re: adding a second ip - issue

i'm really sorry to bother you zhang but i really can't seem to make it work

how can i define the default smtp transport ? i can't find it anywhere

i tried creating a second transpot to my main ip like i did with my second ip  but it didn't work

i'm not sure what exactly i should do

As mentioned in my first reply, it's in /etc/postfix/master.cf.

Re: adding a second ip - issue

i've tried that but when i add

/etc/init.d/postfix restart

i get an error

Shutting down postfix:                                     [FAILED]
Starting postfix:                                          [FAILED]

but when i remove the   -o smtp_bind_address='173.xxx.xxx.117' from the default smtp i don't get an error

Do you have at least one whitespace before '-o'?

Re: adding a second ip - issue

okey that problem was solved, i don't get any error when i added the space , but i got a new problem that the mail isn't sent now from any ip

and when i type mailq in putty i get :

Please revert this to:

smtp inet n - - - - smtpd

And ADD one more transport like this:

173.xxx.xxx.117:25 inet n - - - - smtpd

Re: adding a second ip - issue

still the same problem unfortunately

just to be sure that i didn't miss anything

i added sender_dependent_default_transport_maps = pcre:/etc/postfix/sdd_transport.pcre to the end of /etc/postfix/main.cf

this is how my /etc/postfix/sdd_transport.pcre file look like :

/@benxxxxxx\.com$/ sample-smtp:

and my /etc/postfix/master.cf file

Do you have a white space at the beginning of this line?

Re: adding a second ip - issue

yes i do have a space at the beginning of line

note that i see that it uses port 25 at the end of the ip while i'm trying to send via tls , could that be the issue?

Please remove the leading white space.

Re: adding a second ip - issue

unfortunately that didn't solve the issue either hmm

when i removed the white space i got an error when starting postfix

Starting postfix:                                          [FAILED]
