Hi,

Love the product. I have hopefully what would be a quick question. We use Iredmail server for scanning to email from our Multifunction Copiers / Scanners.

Our previous mail server would send the job in around 5 seconds and by the time I am back to my desk the email would be waiting.

However with Iredmail this process seems to take a little longer, for the same document took around 2 minutes to arrive in my inbox. Now this may not sound a lot and I would agree but i know users will complian.

Is there any reason for this delay, are the mails being scanned before being sent which is causing a delay, are there any tweaks I can make to speed this up slightly.

Many Thanks

Re: Scanning to Email

*) Your copier/scanner send email to iRedMail server, then?
*) What's the email content? Is the email size big? e.g. 5MB, 10MB?
*) how did you configure the copier/scanner to send email?
*) How much memory do you have on this server?

Scanner uses Iredmail as it mail server to relay the scans to users inbox

Email is just 1 page, on previous mail server attachment was less than 100kb

Scanner is configured with iredmail Host name  (have tried IP with no difference) port 587 with TLS, and using an account on iredmail for SSTP authentication.

Server have 8GB.

I have noticed it doesn't seems to make much difference if I scan 1 page or 20 pages the time is roughly the same.

Thanks

Please follow this tutorial to get better performance:
http://www.iredmail.org/docs/concurrent.processing.html

Serve has 8GB memory, i suggest tune the "max_servers" setting to "10" first for testing.
