Topic: Manually upgrade dovecot

Hi,

We are in the process of migrating our old e-mail system (Qmail + Dovecot) to 2 iRedMail servers running Debian Lenny. The old system has Dovecot 1.2.6 while the iRedMail servers is Dovecot 1.1.16

Is it safe to manually upgrade Dovecot to version 1.2.11 ?

Best regards Pär

If you didn't use any features which are only available in v1.2, i suggest you use the default version (v1.1.x). Otherwise you have to read dovecot upgrade tutorial: http://wiki.dovecot.org/Upgrading/1.2
