Topic: Passwords are invalid after migrating to new server

- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release): 0.9.0 to 0.9.3
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: Debian 7 to Debian 8
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL):  MySQL

I am moving servers. I've installed 0.9.3 on my new Debian 8 VPS and can get to my login page. I've moved the contents of old:/var/vmail to new:/var/vmail and imported database contents to the MySQL server the iRedMail.sh installation script made for me. I can verify that the databases match and it all looks in order with no errors, but I cannot log in and passwords I am 100% sure are correct do not work.

My assumption is that the new server has a different password salt for database hashes and I just need to change that, but I do not know for sure.

Interestingly, my password works for /iredadmin/, just not /mail/.

Still need help with this. My only error is "Login failed."

Okay.

I made a new account using iRedAdmin (again, my normal admin sign in works fine).

I go over to /mail/ again, I get the exact same error: Login invalid.
I literally just created this account.

I've imported my /var/vmail directory into the new server and imported all the content into the database. I can confirm that the content is there and valid.

Could you please turn on debug mode in Dovecot and try to login to webmail again? Show us related log in Dovecot log file.

Good call. It appears I'm missing a MySQL column from between 0.4 and 0.5
