I have just finished installing a iRedMail instance on Amazon EC2, I used the stock version of Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS (HVM), SSD Volume Type. When I changed the host and hostname as stated in the Ubuntu install it didn't work correctly.

Now my server name is ip-XXX-XX-XX-XX.us-west-2.compute.internal instead of mail.myaddress.com and I'm getting an SMTP Banner Check error at http://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=smtp

Whats the correct way to change the host name for an EC2 instance of Ubuntu.

Apart from that I was surprised at how easy it was to install and configure.

What's the content in /etc/network/interfaces, /etc/hosts, /etc/hostname?
