Topic: Configuring spam filtering / virus filtering

I know this answer must be obvious, but I can't discover it in the documentation:  Are spam and virus filtering turned on in the default installation?  Where do I go to turn them on/off?  And where can I modify spamassassin's sensitivity?  And are they both automatically updated?

Once again, I apologize for what must be obvious answers, but I've used both these products before bot I can figure out how they're configured here.

Yes.

Where do I go to turn them on/off?

In /etc/amavisd.conf (RHEL/CentOS) or /etc/amavis/conf.d/* (Debian/Ubuntu). You know google.com, right? homework is required. smile

And where can I modify spamassassin's sensitivity?

/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf

And are they both automatically updated?

Yes. SpamAssassin and ClamAV will update automatically.
