Topic: Change default mail folder for users

For user 'www' default mail folder is:
'/var/vmail/vmail01/mail.in/w/ww/www/www-2010.05.25.17.03.54/'.
And all new users in all domains will have such directories.

How change this default behaviour? For example, if I want new directories like:
'/var/vmail/vmail01/mail.in/www'
, where www - user name.

And by the way, why was selected method of organisation of mail storage? I mean directories structure(like /domain.local/i/iv/iva/ivanov-2010.05.25.17.50.57). May be this method is much more suitable (than the /domain.local/ivanov), but I don't see clear facts!

To avoid too many files/folders under same directory, the more in same directory, the slower kernel can locate the file.

Re: Change default mail folder for users

Ok, thanks! But could you tell me how change this setting? I've looked through a lot of config files, but it takes me more time than I was thinking before wink

My future server will not serve a lot of mailboxes and it will be much more easy if all email's foldes will be listed in root mail domain directory.

If you use postfixadmin, you don't need to change anything.
If iRedAdmin, set hashed_mailbox=False in settings.ini.
