Hello everyone! First time trying to use iRedMail (founded today actually big_smile). I'm using a server with postfix and dovecot already installed e working after long time spent in configuration. So I decided to install RoundCube too, but nothing seems to work because it has problems with MySQL ("Unable to connect to the database").

I read that iRedMail requires a FRESH installation, but I read also that it would override config file etc. (I don't care). So, during the installation, in the end (I think...) I get this error:

Errors were encountered while processing:
sa-compile
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
< ERROR > Installation failed, please check the terminal output.

I read that is a problem of SpamAssassin.
How can I solve that?

Thank you very much for your time and I'm sorry for my english that is not quite good...

Do you upgrade you serve from 12.04 to 14.04?

Remove spamassassin and restart installation.

You need a fresh system to prevent fails like this wink

Re: Error while installing iRedMail

The server was already in 14.04 version.

This log is useless, cannot understand what the issue is.

To install iRedMail, you must use a FRESH and clean server OS supported by iRedMail. I suggest you try it on virtual machine first, it's simple.

Re: Error while installing iRedMail

This is a bug in MySQL, which is demanding more RAM than your VPS must have.

You could either limit the "max_connections" variable with MySQL, or try to adjust your swap size (if allowed by your host).

Another solution which worked for me, is install Ubuntu 13.10, upgrade to 14.04, and then install iRedMail.

Or if all else fails, upgrade your VPS for more RAM big_smile
