Topic: Is it fine to disable the default and default-ssl sites in apache?

Hi,

In an attempt to make my server more secure and avoid login attempts in webmail, phpmyadmin, etc, I disabled the default and default-ssl sites.

When I need them, I just enable them via ssh. I access my mail via Thunderbird and I'm the only e-mail user in my server, so I rarely need those.

Does this have some undesirable side effects? How hard would it be to remove PHP altogether? I'm fine with doing everything in the terminal...

Thank you

*) It's ok to disable web service is you don't need it.
*) PHP is used for web applications, if you don't have web service enabled, it's ok to ignore it. and it's ok if you remove PHP packages.
