Hello.

Currently I am testing a backup strategy using scripts and an original iRedMail package.

It involves installing the original package, then copying over any modified files from the original.

But I am curious of other strategies.

How do others backup / restore iRedMail?

Imaging?

Scripts?

I run my iRedMail server on an VMWare ESXi 6.0u2 server as a virtual server.  When I need to back up the server, I do it manually by shutting the VM down (at which point my mail spooler catches all inbound mails while the main mail server is down) and then using vCenter to export the VM into an .OVA file to disk.  Once that it done, I spin the VM back up again and any mail that the mail spooler may have gets sent out to the VM running my iRedMail mail server.
