Topic: auto discovery

iRedMail-0.8.5, iRedAdmin-Pro-MySQL-1.7.0

I'm trying to set up auto-discovery for my domains. I have been googling around but couldn't find a decent suggestion on how to set up. I have tried several applications:

- iPhone Mail
- Mail
- Unibox
- Thunderbird

For some domains they can "figure out" server for IMAP and POP automatically. Can you please advise how to setup this "discovery" config for my domain?

Re: auto discovery

Do you have correct DNS records for these domains? Any difference between those working domains and not working ones?

Re: auto discovery

Well, i haven't got anything working yet.

I'm just curious as to which standards exist out there for discovering the service. I'd like to implement it for the first time, so that my users wouldn't need to manually enter all the details for SMTP / IMAP / POP.

Just wondering if anyone have done this before.

Here's how auto config work in Thunderbird:

And here's how auto discover work in Outlook (and other mail clients which supports Microsoft Exchange scheme):
