Topic: ClamAV errors reported by amavis after package update on CentOS

==== Required information ====
- iRedMail version: 0.8.4
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): MySQL
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: CentOS v6.4 64-bit edition
- Related log if you're reporting an issue: excerpt included from maillog
====

I updated several system packages using YUM which included some of those used by iRedMail. One of which being clamav. Now, in my maillog I see the entries:

May 24 12:03:19 mail amavis[2621]: (02621-04) (!)run_av (ClamAV-clamd) FAILED - unexpected , output="/var/spool/amavisd/tmp/amavis-20130524T113955-02621-bN23K7pi/parts: lstat() failed: Permission denied. ERROR\n"
May 24 12:03:19 mail amavis[2621]: (02621-04) (!)ClamAV-clamd av-scanner FAILED: CODE(0x3b092f8) unexpected , output="/var/spool/amavisd/tmp/amavis-20130524T113955-02621-bN23K7pi/parts: lstat() failed: Permission denied. ERROR\n" at (eval 115) line 897.
May 24 12:03:19 mail amavis[2621]: (02621-04) (!)WARN: all primary virus scanners failed, considering backups

How can I correct this? Thanks.

UPDATE:

I checked the dir permissions of the referenced dir's in the log data and they are owned by amavis and the clamav user is in the amavis group and the clamd process is being run by clamav. so, i'm still lost...

Also, av protection appears to be working nonetheless as I have tested it. So this is related to logging perhaps?

**SOLVED**

i missed checking for dir permissions as in setting them to 750. this fixed it.
