Topic: update MX Record

Hello,

I have installed iRedMail 0.8.4 package in my server using the below tutorial.
https://www.digitalocean.com/community/ … -12-10-x64

Currently the MX Record value in the DNS settings is

Hostname: mydomain.org.
Priority: 0

I would like to change the MX Record value in the DNS settings to

Hostname: mail.mydomain.org.
Priority: 0

Will this create any conflict with the iRedMail configuration ? Is the MX Record value used anywhere in the iRedMail configuration ?

Thanks.

Re: update MX Record

Postfix will lookup MX record for mail domain names. For example, email "user@domain.com", Postfix will lookup MX record of "domain.com". For email "user@mail.domain.com", Postfix will lookup MX record of "mail.domain.com".

P.S. If no MX record available, Postfix will use A record instead.
