Congratulations! It's a great work!

Do it support yet "disclaimer messages"?
The disclaimer message is functionality very interesting to the compaonies. I'm waiting for it to deploy iredmail on my company server.

Congratulations again.

Re: [ANN] iRedMail-0.5.0-RC1 has been released.

what is exactly iRedOS? comes with iRedMail pre installed?
I want to have a dedicated box for iRedMail...
What do you recomend for a medium level linux admin, a system like debian/ubuntu wich I am more familiar with? CentOS 5 or iRedOS?
thank you.

Re: [ANN] iRedMail-0.5.0-RC1 has been released.

Hi Zhang,

Thanks for this wonderful application!

I'm trying out the 0.5 rc release and I've also tried the stable version but I've noticed something, for 0.4 stable I've chosen horde as the default webmail but when I try to configure users I can't access phpldapadmin, do I have to download it separately? Also for 0.5 rc version, the contents of /var/www/html is just robots.txt, do I have to download roundcube and phpldapadmin separately? If I want to use atmail webmail instead of roundcube, will it work? I understand that both of them rely on MySQL to store user accounts and since I chose LDAP, would I encounter any issues?

TIA

Jan

Re: [ANN] iRedMail-0.5.0-RC1 has been released.

Hi Zhang,

Please disregard my previous post, I saw that phpldapadmin and roundcube is in /var/www so edited httpd.conf and changed DocumentRoot from "/var/www/html" to "/var/www", I could have configured virtualhosting but since this is for test purposes I did not bother.

Thanks!

Jan

P.S. Now I have to study phpldapamin big_smile

Not implemented yet.
It's easy to implement it via amavisd + altermime.

Hope to integrate it in RC2 (no more functions will be added in RC2), and please test it that time.

It will be rleased while 0.5.0-stable released, maybe daleyed one or two weeks.

*Personally*, i  recommend you use the OS which you are familiar with.
iRedMail works on RHEL/CentOS, debian, ubuntu with the same components.

It's not recommended to change httpd.conf, please check /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf, all of web-based admin tools are only avaiable in https (TLS/SSL).

Re: [ANN] iRedMail-0.5.0-RC1 has been released.

I wish there are documentations on how to add email accounts and new domains because I'm not familiar with phpLDAPAdmin, other than that, everything was a breeze.

Re: [ANN] iRedMail-0.5.0-RC1 has been released.

You can use iRedMail-0.5.0-rc1/tools/create_mail_user_OpenLDAP.sh to add new users. usage:

# cd /path/to/iRedMail-0.5.0-rc1/tools/
# sh create_mail_user_OpenLDAP.sh domain.ltd user01 user02 user03

It will use username as password by default.

EDIT:
* Added this tip in Admin Guide: http://code.google.com/p/iredmail/wiki/ … new_users?

Thanks Zhang for the prompt reply, does that script apply too to domains that are not yet created? If not, is there also a script to add new virtual domain?

Why not ask after you give it a try?

Re: [ANN] iRedMail-0.5.0-RC1 has been released.

I gave it a spin as suggested, tried adding users to an existing domain I've created during iRedmail install and also try to add another domain both with the same futile results.

The following are the logs:

[root@iredmail tools]# sh create_mail_user_OpenLDAP.sh example.net chris
You should change 'LDAP_SUFFIX' in create_mail_user_OpenLDAP.sh.
ldap_bind: Invalid credentials (49)
Add new domain: example.net.

Open this script, change ldap suffix, base dn, bind dn, bind password first.
