Topic: Amavis dying - recurring problem

Amavis died today again - with exactly the same error as the other day (link below) - solution was just the same as i figured out in this thread this weekend : http://www.iredmail.org/forum/topic4058 … again.html

but i have no idea on what might change the permissions on /var/lib/spamassassin/3.003001 and the files within it.

and chmod followed by sa-update and then a /etc/init.d/amavisd restart and wupti the server works again.

so now the question is if anyone might have an idea of whats wrong.

the files in /var/lib/spamassassin/3.003001 and the folder itself, which user/group should be the owner of those?

hope anyone can help - as a daily restart sucks : )

Re: Amavis dying - recurring problem

Hi,

I've been using iRedMail (latest version)  for about 3 weeks now, and it's been 4 days that I have to reboot the server!
Each and every time, the temporary fix is to recreate /var/spool/amavisd/{tmp,db}, recreate rsa .pem file in /var/lib/dkim and restart services.

It seems that the issue arises around 5.00 am, since then it's when I start seeing errors in maillog.

I'm searching the web for a permanent solution to this but, so far, it seems the issue is not reported anywhere else.

The machine is used exclusively as a mail server (runs on scientificlinux 6.3).
