Is Mysql 5.5 safe to use?   I unintentionally upgraded to MySQL-server -5.5

It kept losing uses maildir & password in mysql and I could could not see the user in iRedadmin.  I also could not recreate the user in iRedmail admin panel either.   I did a mysql database restore of the vmail database.   But with in seconds, random users would be have the maildir and password setting in mysql set to blank.   Once this was done the mail server would reject the mail saying the user doesn't exist.

I restored the vmail database serveral time, and eventually had to restore the whole server from tape except for the vmail directories.

Any input would be helpful.
