Hi all,

i've taken over administration of a iRedMail Mailserver from a colleague who left the company.
Now i've the problem that i don't know the version of iRedMail iRedMailPro LDAP installed on the the server due to lack of any documentation ...
Can you please tell me how to determine the actual installed version?
And how can i upgrade. I understood that updating iRedMailPro does not upgrade iRedMail, correct?

Best regards
Oliver

Re: determine version and upgrade

Hi Oliver,

- You can find iRedMail version number in files under /etc/postfix/ldap/*.cf. The latest iRedMail release will store version number in /etc/iredmail-release.
- You can find iRedAdmin-Pro version number after logged in: httpS://your_server/iredadmin/ It's displayed in Dashboard page.

Re: determine version and upgrade

Thx for fast response.

iRedMail 0.7.3
iRedAdmin-Pro 1.6.2

But roundcube is 0.5.4, do i have to upgrade this also manually?

Best regards
Oliver

Re: determine version and upgrade

Yes, you have to upgrade them manually. Upgrade all of them are easy enough.

- Upgrade tutorials of iRedMail is available here: http://www.iredmail.org/doc.html#upgrade_tutorial
- Upgrade tutorials of iRedAdmin-Pro-LDAP is available here: http://iredmail.org/wiki/index.php?titl … utorials_2
- Upgrade tutorials of Roundcube webmail is available here: http://iredmail.org/wiki/index.php?titl … be.Webmail

Suggested upgrade order:

- Upgrade iRedMail first
- Upgrade iRedAdmin-Pro
- Upgrade Roundcube webmail

Re: determine version and upgrade

OK,

update for iRedAdminPro seems to be easy.

But the upgrade for iRedMail 0.7.3 to 0.7.4 http://iredmail.org/wiki/index.php?titl … .7.3-0.7.4
describes only the fixes from the release announcement, but not the new features like
- SPF verification is now enabled by default.
- Enable two sample dovecot sieve filters in Roundcube webmail: Move spam to Junk, Vacation. Both are disabled by default. With these two samples, end users can easily set vacation message or move spam to Junk folder.

Also this wouldn't update the version info you explained to me?

Best regards
Oliver

Re: determine version and upgrade

These two features are applied on new installation, so they're not mentioned in upgrade tutorial.

And yes, it won't update version info. You should track it manually. For example, store version number in /etc/iredmail-release.
With iRedMail-0.7.4 and newer releases, will remind admins to update version number in /etc/iredmail-release.
