Topic: Two iRedMail servers - Backup Scenario

I want to deploy the following scenario:
One iRedMail/OpenLDAP acts as the main/master mail server and another one iRedMail/OpenLDAP as the secondary/slave mail server. All I want to do is when I add a mail account on the master server to get automatically created on the secondary so in case the master fails, the secondary is ready to serve the mail service on the network. No mail forwarding etc.

OpenLDAP replication is what you need. It can replicate all data from master OpenLDAP server to slave (secondary) server in few seconds.

The problem is, do you want to sync mailboxes also? If not, OpenLDAP replication is enough.

Not mailboxes, only mail accounts so that in case of master mail server's failure, the secondary is ready for action.

Then LDAP replication is enough for you, it's easy to setup. smile
