I would be interested in keeping my existing LDAP database and have iRedMail authenticate with it. Integrating an IM service would be a nice feature.

now redhat have provide the rpm, we can install the openvpn-auth-ldap through yum.

Also, to add to that. After a quick google search Redmine and OpenFire seem to do LDAP integration quite easily, where as I could only find problem reports for Trac and ejabbered.

After I repair my mail system (going to reinstall when 0.5 gets released), I may give it a go to get more of my stuff to use LDAP for Auth. If I remember to, I will write up instructions to get it going :)

I do agree however that some chat service (XMPP based) sounds like the thing that makes the most sense ... with iredmail you got a mail system so the next logical step is that folks would want some chat service as well over all other things.

By chat service I mean multi user chat and instant messaging like for example ejabberd or openfire does it.

We've integrated several solutions with iRedMail mail solution which use OpenLDAP for user auth/identified, includes OpenFire IM service, SugarCRM, Mediawiki, Trac, etc. we will release integration documents later.
