Even the PO file in iRedAdmin-1.1.1.tar.bz2 has the wrong encoding.

Downloading the PO file from transfex, applying "msgfmt iredadmin.po -o iredadmin.mo" and moving both files to the appropriate directory solved the issue for me.

This page http://www.decodeunicode.org/en/u+00fc/properties states correctly that "ü" is 0xc3bc in UTF-8.
